Day 1: Paro Arrival – Paro Halt
Having a pretty flight and indulging yourself in a stunning picturesque of Paro Valley, then taking off at the airport. After completing all immigration procedures, our representative will be waiting to warmly welcome you and escort you to your hotel. Having lunch and taking it easy.
In the afternoon, head out and enjoy a very first Bhutan birding tour along the Pa Chhu river. During a short trip, you will sight several waterbirds such as Ibisbill, Plumbeous Water Redstart, River Lapwing, White-capped Water Redstart, Brown Dipper.
Later, in the evening, have dinner and the rest of the day will be yours.

Day 2: Birding Tour in Paro
Getting up and immersing yourself in the tranquility of the early morning when time slowly passes by. Having breakfast and taking a drive to Chelela pass for catching a glimpse of pheasants like Himalayan Monal, Blood Pheasant, Satyr Tragopan, and Kalij Pheasant. Also, you may have a chance to sight Fire-tailed Myzornis.
Later, drive back to Paro, have dinner, and enjoy a joyful nightlife moment in Paro.

Day 3: Transfer from Paro to Punakha
Have breakfast, then drive and stop over Dochula pass (3.050 meters) where, on a lovely day, you can witness the impressive snow-capped eastern Himalayan range. Now, it’s time for you to visit the Druk Wangyal Chorten with 108 stupas, historical sites of Bhutan giving you an insight into the history of the country.
Continue the drive downward to the valleys of Punakha and Wangduephorang where you can definitely encounter various birds: Rusty-cheeked Scimitar Babbler, Ultramarine Flycatcher, Spotted Forktail, Slaty-backed Forktail, Eurasian Jay, Spotted Nutcracker, Speckled Wood Pigeon, Crested Kingfisher, White-throated Kingfisher, Common Kingfisher, Grey Treepie, White-bellied Heron, Dark-breasted Rosefinch, Little Bunting, Red-headed Bullfinch, Brown Bullfinch, Chestnut-tailed Minla, Ultramarine Flycatcher, Rufous-gorgeted Flycatcher, Rufous-breasted Bush Robin, White-browed Bush Robin, and so on.
In the evening, have dinner and the rest of the day will be yours, just take it easy your way.

Day 4 & 5: Birding Tour in Punakha – Gasa
Today, you drive along the Pho Chhu River and in the stretch, you will see Asian-barred Owlet, Jungle Owlet, White-bellied Heron, Osprey, Lesser Fish Eagle, Pallas’ Fish Eagle, Great Cormorant, Striped-throated Yuhina, Black-throated Yuhina, Striated Yuhina, Whiskered Yuhina, Green-tailed Sunbird, Black-throated Sunbird, Grey-chinned Minivet, Long-tailed Minivet, Scarlet Minivet, Wedge-tailed Green Pigeon, White-tailed Nuthatch, Maroon Oriole, Orange-bellied Leafbird, Scarlet Finch, Speckled Piculet, Pygmy Wren Babbler, Spotted Wren Babbler, Rufous-winged Fulvetta, Black-eared Shrike-babbler, Yellow-throated Fulvetta, Green Shrike-babbler, Himalayan Cutia, Blue-fronted Robin, Hoary-throated Barwing, Rusty-fronted Barwing, Lesser Shortwing, Yellow-bellied Fantail, White-throated Fantail, Black-backed Forktail, Spotted Forktail, Slaty-backed Forktail, Grey-bellied Tesia, Slaty-bellied Tesia, Chestnut-headed Tesia, etc…

Day 6: Transfer from Punakha to Phobjikha
Getting up and listening to the birding song as soon as we open our eyes. Leave Punakha behind, today we drive to Phobjikha, one of the most significant wildlife preserves in Bhutan and in the winter, the area is home to the endangered bird, Black-necked Crane. Once in the valley, you can find a variety of birds: Fire-tailed Sunbird, Green-tailed Sunbird, Whiskered Yuhina, Rufous-vented Yuhina, Tickell’s Thrush, Blue Rock Thrush, Blue-capped Rock Thrush, Scaly Thrush, Yellow-rumped Honeyguide, Alpine Accentor, Great Parrotbill, Spotted Laughingthrush, Black-faced Laughingthrush, White-tailed Nuthatch, Scarlet Finch, Fire-breasted Flowerpecker, and so on.

Day 7: Transfer from Phobjikha to Trongsa
Today, after breakfast, you are now full of energy to begin your day with a 3-hours drive through dense lush oak, rhododendron, horse chestnut, laurel, maple, fir, spruce, hemlock, juniper, and larch forests to the central district of Trongsa crossing through Pelela pass (3390 meters) where you can sight many birds: Speckled Wood Pigeon, Scaly-breasted Wren Babbler, Streaked-breasted Scimitar Babbler, Slender-billed Scimitar Babbler, Brown Parrotbill, Beautiful Rosefinch, Common Rosefinch, White-browed Rosefinch, Asian House Martin, Nepal House Martin, Mountain Hawk Eagle, Crested Serpent Eagle, Himalayan Griffon, and so on.
In the evening, do what you want as the rest of the day will be yours.
Day 8: Transfer from Trongsa to Zhemgang – Tingtibi
This morning, take a quite long drive (4.5 hours) to Zhemgang and Tingtibi following the Mangde Chhu river. En route, do not forget to look outside to witness the stunning vistas along the road and enjoy a pretty drive. Species that we can found here are: Hill Partridge, Chestnut-breasted Partridge, Blue-bearded Bee-eater, Red-Headed Trogon, Pin-tailed Green Pigeons, Great Hornbill, Rufous-necked Hornbill, Coral-billed Scimitar Babbler, Speckled Piculet, White-browed Piculet, White-throated Needletail, Collared Scops Owl, Mountain Scops Owl, and some of the endangered birds like Lesser-necklaced Laughingthrush, Greater Necklaced Laughingthrush, White-bellied Heron Greater Rufous-headed Parrotbill, Lesser Rufous-headed Parrotbill, Collared Treepie.

Day 9 & 10: Discover Tingtibi
Today, let’s begin our journey of exploring birds in this area. In Tingtibi, you have an opportunity to bump into so many species like: Black-hooded Oriole, Maroon Oriole, Slender-billed Oriole, Chestnut-crowned Warbler, Grey-cheeked Warbler,Whistler’s Warbler, Rufous-faced Warbler, Black-faced Warbler, Rufescent Prinia, Striated Prinia, Mountain Tailorbird, Common Tailorbird, Red-whiskered Bulbul, Black-crested Bulbul, Common Green Magpie, Pygmy Wren Babbler, Puff-throated Babbler, Abbott’s Babbler, Rufous-necked Laughingthrush, Rufous-chinned Laughingthrush, Striated Laughingthrush, White-crested Laughingthrush, Great Hornbill, Rufous-necked Hornbill, Wreathed Hornbill, Lesser Yellownape, Blue-bearded Bee-eater, Chestnut-headed Bee-eater, Green Bee-eater, Ashy Woodswallow, Lesser Coucal, Greater Coucal, Green-billed Malkoha,Green Imperial Pigeon, White-rumped Shama, and if you are lucky, you absolutely meet Hodgson’s Frogmouth and Pied Falconet.

Day 11: Transfer from Tingtibi to Bumthang
Having breakfast, then we will transfer to visit Trongsa Dzong built in 1648 and it houses royal heritage museum.
Then, the drive will continue to Bumthang crossing Yotongla pass (3400 meters). On driving, you have to behold and listen to the fresh tweet coming from Gold-naped Finch, Chestnut-crowned Laughingthrush, Black-faced Laughingthrush, Hill Partridge, Brown Parrotbill, Bar-throated Siva, and so on.
Later, in the evening, leisurely walk along the Chamkhar river and enjoy the birding songs from Common Sandpiper, Blyth’s Pipit, Red-billed Chough.

Day 12: Discover Bumthang
If you missed witnessing pheasants, today would be another chance for you to do such the thing. Head to Tharparling Monastery for super adorable Himalayan Monal and Satyr Tragopan. Besides pheasants, you will meet Black-billed Magpie, Oriental Skylark, Olive-backed Pipit, Daurian Redstart, and Spot-winged Grosbeak.
In the evening, the rest of the day will be yours.

Day 13: Transfer from Bumthang to Sengor
Today, a long drive (5 hours) will be waiting for you. Having a hearty breakfast, then drive to Sengor passing over Thrumsingla pass (3.800 meters), from where you can meet Rufous-throated Partridge, White-throated Fantail, Himalayan Monal, Blood Pheasant, Satyr Tragopan, White-browed Fulvatas, Stripe-throated Yuhina, Orange-flanked Bush Robin, Yellow-rumped Honeyguide, Great Parrotbill, Fire-tailed Myzornis, Blue-bearded Bee-eater, Fire-breasted Flowerpecker, Grey Wagtail, Red-headed Bullfinch, Fire-tailed Sunbird, Fire-tailed Myzornis, Spotted Nutcracker, Satyr Tragopan, Blood Pheasant.

Day 14: Transfer from Sengor to Namling – Yongkola
This morning, transfer to Namling and Yongkola to witness Chestnut-breasted Partridge, Golden Bush Robin, Great Barbet, Golden-throated Barbet, Blue-throated Barbet, Slender-billed Scimitar Babbler, Ward’s Trogon, White-browed Shrike Babbler, Black-headed Shrike Babbler, Yellow-rumped Honeyguide, Bar-winged Wren Babblers, Gould’s Shortwing.

Day 15 & 16: Discover Yongkola
Taking a 2-day birding tour in Yongkola, you will have an opportunity to let your soul and the nature roll into one. Leisurely walk around the area, receive the most quintessential things coming from nature, and then you will meet Ashy Bulbul, Mountain Bulbul, Himalayan Bulbul, Grey-throated Babbler, Bhutan Laughingthrush, Chestnut-bellied Nuthatch, Beautiful Nuthatch, White-tailed Nuthatch, Asian-barred Owlet, Short-billed Minivet, Rufous-necked Laughingthrush, Rufous-necked Hornbill, Tawny Fish Owl, Ward’s Trogon, Red-headed Trogon, Rufous-throated Wren Babbler, Scaly-breasted Wren Babbler, Pygmy Wren Babbler, Himalayan Cutia, Grey-winged Blackbird, Hoary-throated Barwing, Rusty-fronted Barwing, Streak-breasted Scimitar Babblers, Collar-billed Scimitar Babbler, Coral-billed Scimitar Babbler, Long-tailed Minivet, Short-billed Minivet, Grey-chinned Minivet, Scarlet Minivet, Pallas’s Fish Eagle, Rufous-bellied Eagle, Black-throated Prinia, Striated Prinia, Gray-throated Babbler.

Day 17: Transfer from Yongkola to Trashigang
Today, you drive to Samdrup Jongkhar in Trashigang, after breakfast, and have a short birding trip there to witness Greater Flameback, White-rumped Shama, and Silver-eared Mesia.

Day 18: Transfer from Trashigang to Samdrup Jongkhar
Having breakfast, we head out to drive to the border town of Samdrup Jongkhar. En route, it is great to marvel at Grey-sided Laughingthrush, Jungle Babbler, House Sparrow, Black Eagle, Red-headed Trogon, Black-backed Forktail, Pies falconet, Dark-rumped swift, Pin-tailed Green Pigeon, Sultan Tit.
Then, follow the descending route o the foothills temperate vegetation giving way to broad-leafed forests, the habitat of the Rufous-necked Hornbill, Gold-naped Finch, and Beautiful Nuthatch.
Further down to the subtropical forests of the foothills of Samdrup Jongkhar, it’s your chance to meet the Greater Flameback, White-rumped Shama, Silver-eared Mesia, Violet Cuckoo, Pied Falconet.

Day 19: Paro Departure
