Day 01: Paro Arrival – Transfer to Thimphu
On reaching Paro, you will have a chance to witness the brown or green fields cover the valley floor while isolated farms and hamlets dot the landscape. Upon arrival at the Paro International Airport, our representative will be waiting to warmly greet you and escort you to Thimphu. When you’ve settled in the hotel, enjoy lunch and take a rest.
In the afternoon, we head to Memorial Chorten – a structure with golden spires as well as an endless procession of the locals circling around it. Next, we will visit the National Library where preserves ancient books between wrapped in silk or wooden pieces. Later, in the evening, have dinner and the rest of the day will be yours. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing Trip in Thimphu
Today, we further discover the capital city – Thimphu. Head to the Kuensel Phodrang where the Buddha Dordenma situated. This is one of the largest Buddha statues in the world. Next, we visit the Folk Heritage Museum, Royal Textile Museum, and Vast Art Gallery that you can get an insight into Bhutan’s living national art of Thangzo and the traditional lifestyle of the Bhutanese. In the afternoon, we stroll around the city and explore textile and handicraft shops or visit Craft Bazaar.
In the evening, we will pay a visit to Tashichho Dzong, known as ‘fortress of the glorious religion’, built-in 1641, which is home to the throne room of His Majesty the King of Bhutan. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek Begins | Trek to Geynekha – Gur
Today, our Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek will begin. After breakfast, we will take a pretty drive to the starting point. The trekking trails will lead us through terraced fields and stunning Genekha village. After trekking a bit downwards and crossing the river, we begin climbing towards a massive rock that gives you a panorama of the valley. After 2 hours of trekking, we will reach Gur, a wonderful spot lying amidst yak pastures.
Day 04: Trek from Gur to Labatama
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we start trekking across the ridges. While trekking let’s enjoy the stunning scenery of the rugged mountain flowers and meadows. Passing through tiny streams, rhododendrons and we will reach the Pagalabtsa Pass offering you spectacular views of Kanchenjunga (Sikkim) along with a number of other Himalayan peaks in Bhutan. As we make your way descending through the pass, we will get a panorama of Dagala Range and the nearby yak herders camp where we enjoy lunch. After that, trek downwards to the Labatama Valley until we reach Utsho Lake where Golden trout are abundant. Overnight next to the Lake.
Day 05: Labatama Halt
Today, we leisurely relax and discover Labatama Valley. For those who want to enjoy something thrilling and energetic as you can enjoy a day excursion to Hentsho, Relitsho, or Jametsho Lake. Overnight next to the Lake.
Day 06: Trek from Labatama to Panka
Today’s trail will follow along the western side of Dala Tsho up to the saddle (14.800 ft) providing you a chance to totally soak in a majestic vista of the Himalayan peaks consisting of the Everest, Kanchenjunga, Jomolhari, Jitchu Drake, Khangbum, Tshering Gang… If you want to witness the better view, let climb to the peak at 15.500 ft and the open-wide picturesque will satisfies you. We then descend through yak herder huts to Docha Chu, keep following the river and we will reach the camp base at Panka.
Day 07: Pankha – Chamgang – Thimphu (End of Trekking)
You will start early today. This day entails the crossing of several passes, each one more impressive than the other. Search for different varieties of Blue Poppy (June-July) and mountain birds. You will finally arrive at the main motorable road where your transport will be waiting to transfer you to Thimphu. Overnight at a hotel in Thimphu.
Day 08: Sightseeing Trip in Paro
Today, we will spend our whole day to discover Paro Valley. Having breakfast and then, we visit the 17th century Paro Dzong which is home to both district administration offices along with the central monk body. Once there, besides getting an insight into the history of the Dzong, it is your opportunity to marvel at its impressive architecture and the stunning view surrounding. Next, we head to the National Museum which houses a huge collection of Bhutanese treasures including colorful Buddhist artworks and weapons from centuries ago.
After lunch, continue our journey by visiting the Kyichu Monastery and Drugyel Dzong ruins. Later, leisurely enjoy the nightlife in Paro. Overnight at Paro.
Day 09: A day trip in Haa Valley via Cheila Pass
Get up early and we will enjoy a pretty drive to Haa Valley via the Chele La Pass. En route, if the day you enjoy would be clear, get ready to witness the sweeping view of the snow-capped peak – Jomolhari. When we reach Haa Valley, we descend for about 2 hours, pass through the dense forest to the Kila Goemba, an old-aged nunnery set in a craggy patch on the mountainside.
Later, we drive back to Paro and the rest of the day will be yours. Joyfully enjoy it. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Taktsang Goemba Hiking
Our last day of the Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek tour, having breakfast and then, we take a drive to Ramthanka Base (25 minutes) to enjoy a hiking trip to the most famous sites in Paro – Taktsang Goemba, also known as ‘Tiger’s Nest’. There are two option for you to enjoy the trip today as you can choose to hire a hiking stick and enjoy hiking on foot or if you cannot hike, we can arrange you a horse-back ride to the halfway till the Monastery. When we reach the favorite spot to witness the whole Taktsang Goemba, just stop and all you need to do is keep your camera activating.
We have lunch at the cafeteria and after that, we descend and back to Paro town. Leisurely enjoy the rest of the last day in Paro. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11: Paro Departure
Time to say goodbye Bhutan. Enjoy your last beautiful moment with breakfast in the hotel and you can head out to wander around the town or just relax in a coffee shop/ at your hotel. After 2 hours when your flight takes off, our representative will meet you at the hotel and escort you to the Paro International Airport. Your Bhutan trip ends.
