Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Paro Airport - Thimphu (L, D)
As you touch down at Paro Airport, our Bhutan representative warmly welcomes you. Completing the necessary Visa/Permit formalities, you'll be assisted in boarding your vehicle for a scenic transfer to Thimphu, the charming capital town of Bhutan. After the journey, the evening is yours to relax and enjoy at your leisure. Overnight at a comfortable hotel in Thimphu.
Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing (B, L, D)
Morning
After savoring a delectable breakfast, set off on a captivating full-day exploration of Thimphu's cultural gems. Immerse yourself in the rich heritage as you visit the iconic Memorial Chorten, the majestic Tashichho Dzong, and the impressive Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodong) offering breathtaking vistas. Experience the serene ambiance of Changangkha Lhakhang (Monastery) and encounter the fascinating wildlife at the Motithang Takin Preservation Centre.
Afternoon
The enriching journey continues with visits to the revered Drubthob Goemba (Zilukha Nunnery) and the spiritual haven of Zangtho Pelri Lhakhang (Monastery). Delight in the artistry of the Jhunghi handmade paper factory and immerse yourself in the Bhutanese postal services at the Thimphu Post office. As the day unfolds, the magic of Thimphu envelops you, and you'll retreat to your comfortable hotel for a restful overnight stay, cherishing the memories of a day filled with cultural wonders and spiritual discoveries.
Day 3: Thimphu - Punakha - Wangdi (B, L, D)
Morning
After a hearty breakfast, prepare for an exciting day of exploration. Begin by visiting the Textiles Museum and Handicrafts Shops (please note that they are closed on Saturday, Sunday & National Holidays). Immerse yourself in Bhutan's artistic heritage as you discover intricate textiles and traditional crafts. Next, head to the National Library (also closed on Saturday, Sunday & National Holidays) and gain insight into Bhutan's literary treasures. Continue your cultural journey by visiting the Institute for Zorig Chusum, the Traditional Art & Craft School (please note it's closed on Saturday, Sunday, National Holidays, and during Summer & Winter Vacations). Witness the skills of Bhutan's artisans as they preserve and pass down ancient craft techniques.
Afternoon
After lunch, embark on a scenic drive to Punakha and Wangdi (Wangdiphodrang), revealing captivating landscapes along the way. Be awe-inspired as you pass through the picturesque Dochu La pass, offering mesmerizing views of majestic mountains. Upon reaching Punakha, lose yourself in the splendor of the magnificent Punakha Dzong, beautifully situated at the confluence of two rivers. If time permits, explore the Suspension Bridge and the revered Chimi Lhakhang (Monastery).
Day 4: Adventure and Serenity in Punakha (B, L, D)
After a delightful breakfast, brace yourself for a day filled with thrilling adventures and enchanting landscapes, offering you two exciting options:
Option 1: Experience the thrilling Mo Chhu - "The Temple Stretch" for a 6-Kilometer rafting adventure on the Punakha River. After the excitement, return to the hotel.
Option 2: Embark on a full-day excursion to the breathtaking Gangtey & Phobjikha Valley. Explore the beautiful valley, visit the Black Necked Crane Information Centre and Gangtey Goempa (Monastery). Return to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 5: Punakha - Wangdi - Paro (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we bid farewell to Punakha and Wangdi as we head to Paro. On arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the afternoon visiting the historic Rinpung Dzong. The rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Full Day Hike to Taktsang Lhakhang (Tiger's Nest) (B, L, D)
Early in the morning, embark on an unforgettable day hike to the revered Taktsang Lhakhang, also known as the "Tiger's Nest Monastery." The uphill hike takes approximately 2 to 3 hours through lush pine forests. After the trek, the afternoon is yours for leisure or shopping in the local market.
Day 7: Paro Departure (B)
